Alright boys and girls…. Star Wars Celebration CVI is right around the corner! Here is the skinny on all the goodies that I will have at the show. Of course my brand new Return of the Jedi lithograph will be available at the event. I wanted to create a perfect companion to the Empire painting I did for the last Celebration 2 years ago. Presales were fantastic but I still have some for everybody! My suggestion is to get there sooner than later as presales have taken a large portion of the prints out of circulation. I also was asked to do a tribute piece of Ralph McQuarrie artwork for the event. What an honor that was. Im so thrilled with the final artwork for the tribute painting! A beautiful mix of fully rendered acrylics with unfinished watercolors pulled together in the painting to represent many of the creations Mr. McQuarrie helped to breath life into. Last but not least the Key Art for the show!!!! Chris Trevas and I were selected to create brand new artwork for all the badges, program covers, and many other collectible items you will find at the Celebration Store. We will also be over there signing and hanging out both Friday and Saturday at the official Store in the afternoon. Then throw on top of this nearly 50 illustrations for a new Random House project and there you have my spring and summer in a nutshell. Looking forward to seeing everyone this upcoming weekend at Star Wars Celebration VI!

My Star Wars CVI artwork begins pre sales tomorrow. I’m putting the finishing touches on the artwork right now and going to press immediately upon completion. The new ROTJ art is the perfect companion to my sold out Empire artwork from Celebration V. It is going to be reproduced to the same specs as the Celebration V Empire Strikes Back artwork I did for the 30th anniversary two years ago. It is one of the best looking pieces of artwork I have done to date and I cant wait to share the finished product with you guys very soon!!!

Star Wars Weekends, Brian Rood art debut!

Hey Guys and Gals, I will be setting up with ACME at the Star Wars Weekends in Orlando at Disney this weekend and again on the closing weekend in June. Lots of art debuts this weekend with Acme!!!! I recently created 7 new pieces of Bounty hunter artwork available as both a collectors portfolio as well as sold individually….

I will also be working on a number of live art demos at the event that will be available for purchase… Come say hi if your going to Disney for Star Wars Weekends!!!! Looking forward to talking and seeing everyone there.

Ok, so I love working on Star Wars, Tron, Spiderman and all that stuff, but….. Every now and again I get a rare opportunity to work outside of the Sci Fi , Action/Adventure genre. This project is a perfect example. Not only did it involve a movie that was far outside the realm of my usual stuff, but the style itself was something new. I had a blast working with the client on this one and actually did about 3 other pieces for the project for them to choose from. I will post all of them here later this week, for now take a look at my artwork that is currently being used as the Dirty Dancing Blu Ray Collection on store shelves right now!

Just finished up some Ali artwork that is waiting final approval!!! Super cool to work on a piece that is based on such an Iconic part of our culture! Happy Birthday to Ali also. Hope he likes the new artwork!!!! More info asap on this limited edition fine art print.

2012 Gallery and Exhibit schedule

I will be debuting brand new artwork at each of the shows and selling my various artist proofs from Lucasfilm, Disney, Paramount, Ali, and other popular titles. I will also have available many original works, as well as be producing live work at the events….. Looking forward to seeing many of you at one of these shows. Make sure to check back soon to learn more about what panels I will be participating in at the events! Its going to be a whirlwind of a summer and fall, but I am really looking forward to getting out there and seeing old friends, making a few new ones and maybe even getting a gig or two if I’m lucky!!!
